Token Fund
Every article, filing, timeline, and map here is built on AI tokens. The $463 a month in subscriptions is on me. The overage credits that keep the machine running the rest of the week are the ask: $1,700 a month, billed by the token at published rates. You buy the overage. I do the work.
Most of what the bottom gave me, I would hand back in a second. One thing I am keeping. I write everything down. Where the habit came from I have already put the numbers on this site. From my arrest in January 2021 to the pardon in…

Five different people came to my site this month, typed the word solitary into the search box, and found nothing. Not a bad article. Not an old article. Nothing. I know that because I own the search box. The question most site owners…
I write about my own healing on this site while it is still happening. Not after. During. Some people think that is a mistake. They think you wait until the story is finished, then you tell it clean, with the lesson tied on the end like a…

At six in the morning on October 1, 1964, Japan put its future on the rails. The first Tokaido Shinkansen trains left Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in opposite directions. Ten days later, the Tokyo Olympics would open before a global audience. The…
A lead notification can feel like the perfect piece of marketing proof. There it is on the screen. A real person filled out the form. The phone buzzed. The system moved. The business has something concrete to show instead of another vague…
A convincing fake video can travel across Texas before a campaign finishes writing its correction. State law already recognizes the danger. It makes certain election deepfakes a crime. The question is whether the law starts too late.…

Some mornings begin with a lie that sounds responsible. You tell yourself today will be the day you catch up on everything. Every call. Every bill. Every hard conversation. Every project you delayed. Every promise you made when you had…
The engine was not the first steam locomotive. The technology was not perfect. The train was crowded beyond its official tickets, mixed passengers with coal, and moved through a world that still had reasons to doubt steam power. Then it…
The easiest automation failure to miss is the one that makes no noise. No red banner. No error email. No broken screen. The result simply does not appear. The report is not sent. The backup is not created. The lead is not assigned. The…
A worker can arrange child care on Sunday and lose the plan on Monday. A restaurant can prepare a schedule and lose three employees before the dinner rush. Both problems are real. Texas gives employers broad room to change work hours.…
Maybe today did not go well. The list stayed long. The call went sideways. You lost time you could not get back. Something important is still sitting where it was this morning. You do not need to call that good. You also do not need to…
The Constitution said there would be a Supreme Court. It did not deliver a finished court system. There were no federal district maps, no circuit structure, no number of Supreme Court justices, no operating schedule, and no complete…
Not every lead should be called today. Somebody is waiting for a lease to end. A budget opens next quarter. A spouse needs to be part of the decision. The project belongs after the busy season. The customer asked for a call on the first…
Signing up can take thirty seconds. Canceling can require a password reset, a buried menu, a chatbot, a retention offer, and a phone call during business hours. That gap is profitable. It is also the center of a fair policy question for…
Retirement planning gets complicated fast. One decision can touch Social Security, Medicare, taxes, estate documents, investment risk, monthly income, and the people who may have to help later. Longview residents have a free chance to…

Most service businesses chase repeat work with a phone call. They finish a job, wait a few months, then start dialing and hope somebody still remembers them. Lone Star Total Wash put the second job on the price page before the first one…

Wholesale Universe moved product. That was the part everybody saw. Pallets in, pallets out. Deals, loads, inventory turning over. If you had asked me back then what business I was in, I would have said the wholesale business, and I would…

On January 8, 2022 I filed a grievance because I could not get my mail. It got a number. It got an answer. It got marked resolved. Twenty-one days later I filed a grievance because I could not reach my attorney. It never got a number. It…
Most businesses give away the introduction. You have seen it a hundred times. The free thing is chapter one. The free thing is the overview, the welcome video, the part before it gets useful. Free is where you start, paid is where you…
I have a rule on this site. Nothing gets published without a share image. Not a suggestion. A rule. If you have ever posted a link and watched it land in somebody feed as a gray box with no picture, you know why. The writing can be the…

Everything I rebuilt, I rebuilt with a system. That is not a brag. It is closer to a confession. When I came back to the world with almost nothing, systems were what I had. I could not control the courts, the news, the internet, or what…
I ran a countdown to my own workshop for five days straight. Every post fired on time. Zero errors. The machine did exactly what I built it to do. Not one of those posts had a link in it. Read that again. I spent five days telling people…
People come to me wanting to automate something. Nine times out of ten, the thing they want to automate is not a task. It is a decision they have been avoiding. And a computer cannot avoid a decision on your behalf. It can only make the…

I have built a lot of websites for other people. The first question I ask is never about the design. It is: whose name is on the domain? Most of the time the answer is a shrug, a guy first name, or my nephew set it up back when. That is…
Most people have never been to the bottom. That is not an insult. It is good news for them. But it means they are carrying around a fear they have never actually checked. They think the bottom is infinite. They think if they lose the job,…

I opened my own numbers this morning before eight and the top line said 480 visitors. I have spent two weeks telling you my traffic was on the floor. 480 would have been a good morning. It was not a good morning. 364 of those 480 were a…

Somebody asked me a simple question last week. What time were we heading out. I gave them a paragraph. I explained where I had been that morning, why I was running behind, what I had been dealing with, and how none of it was going to…
There are three ways to pre-order my book. I want to walk through what each price is doing, because I did not pick a single one of them by running a margin calculation. Fighting Shadows is my first-person account of January 6 and the…
There is a page on the Lone Star Total Wash site that most small service businesses never build, and the few that do usually build it wrong. It is called Jobs Completed. It is nothing but before and after photos of actual finished work.…
By Ryan Nichols The strange part of the first true self-service grocery store was not the food. It was the freedom to touch it. In the common grocery model of the early twentieth century, a customer gave an order to a clerk. The clerk…
By Ryan Nichols A free tool can earn attention because it does something useful. It calculates a number. It checks a risk. It grades a page. It helps somebody practice. It turns a vague problem into an answer the visitor can see. Then too…
By Ryan Nichols A job applicant's old paycheck can follow them into a new room before their skills get a fair hearing. An employer may see the same number as useful context. It can reveal the level of responsibility a candidate held,…
Most marketplaces hand you one number and dare you to argue with it. Thirteen percent. Fifteen. Twenty by the time the dust settles. And when you go looking for what that number is made of, you find a help article that says the fee covers…
Every business owner building a new site hits the same wall. The page needs content. The business does not have it yet. No testimonials, because you have four customers and you have not asked them. No case studies, because the work is…
I used to rehearse on the drive. Not the songs. The answers. Somebody was going to ask. Somebody always asked. And I wanted the sentence ready before the question got all the way out of their mouth. Short. Clean. Something that landed. I…
Comeback stories get written as one column. Things that came back. Capability first, then paid work, then routine, then the trust of a few people. Clean list. Reads well. Sells well too, which is part of why it gets written that way. I…
By Ryan Nichols Monday will not be a normal service day in Longview. The City of Longview says municipal offices and Longview Transit will be closed for Labor Day on September 7, 2026. The Longview Public Library is also closed through…
I kept a log. Every grievance I filed inside that jail. The date I filed it. The number they gave it. What it was about. Which step it reached. Whether anybody answered. Whether anything got fixed. Twenty nine entries. November 7, 2021…
By Ryan Nichols You can wait a long time for confidence to give you permission. It may not come. You may still feel unsure when the phone is in your hand. Your voice may still shake when you tell the truth. The first page may still look…
On September 5, 1977, Voyager 1 left Earth with a record attached to its side. Not a data log for mission control. A phonograph record for strangers. The spacecraft had serious work ahead. It would fly past Jupiter and Saturn, return…
Your homepage can appear fast and still feel broken. The logo shows up. The hero image loads. The speed test gives you a number that looks respectable. Then a visitor taps the menu and nothing happens. Or the button moves while the thumb…
The question is no longer whether insurance companies will use artificial intelligence. The Texas Department of Insurance says they already do. The question is what a consumer should be told when an AI system scores, routes, summarizes,…
Longview’s Christmas parade is months away. The work to get into it starts today. According to the official Downtown Longview AMBUCS Christmas Parade page, applications for the 2026 parade open September 5. The listed application fee is…
They sprayed the whole pod. Men were locked in their cells and could not breathe. I filed a grievance about it. Seven days later the answer came back in writing. "THIS IS A GROUP GRIEVANCE / NOT PERMITTED." Read that again. The plain…
You probably do not need a better speech from yourself today. You may not need a bigger goal, a cleaner planner, or a new system either. You may need proof. Not proof that you can fix your entire life before lunch. Proof that when you…
There is a stretch of morning in East Texas right now, early September, where the heat has not woken up yet. The water is flat. The bugs have not organized. The sky is a color that does not have a name and does not need one. I go out in…
I started Wholesale Universe on July 27, 2015. I was proud of it. I should have been. It was real work and it fed people. But I want to say the honest thing about it, because the comeback ledger is not worth keeping if I only put the…
Most accountability sites have the same problem. They will always give you a number. Thin evidence, missing votes, a record with holes in it, does not matter. Something gets published, because a page with a grade on it gets shared and a…
Here is a small thing that will quietly make you a liar on your own website. You put a number on a page. Six months later you put the same number on a different page. Then you change one of them. Now your site says two things. You did not…
They came to school. Nine teenagers arrived at Little Rock Central High School on September 4, 1957, after a federal court said desegregation would continue as planned. They did not walk through the door. The Arkansas National Guard…
Most contact forms end with one word: Submitted. That word tells the software what happened. It does not tell the person what happens next. Did the business receive the request? When should the person expect a response? Will the reply…
A resident walks outside for work and finds an empty parking space. The car was not stolen. It was towed from the apartment property where the resident lives. Maybe the permit fell from the mirror. Maybe the registration changed. Maybe…
Most agency websites show you a number when the number is good. Mine shows you the number whether it is good or not. The LeadFlow Pro runs a page called the Proof Floor at theleadflowpro.com/proof-floor. It is a live scoreboard that pulls…
Somebody filled out your form on Tuesday at 2:14 in the afternoon. You saw it Wednesday morning. You called at ten. They had already booked somebody else. You did not lose that job on price. You lost it on the clock. Here is what most…
Thomas David was born on August 4, 2026. That is the only detail about him that belongs on this website, and it is going to stay that way. He did not sign up for a public record. I did. But I am allowed to write about what a month has…
For a long stretch, quiet meant something bad was about to happen. That is what confinement teaches you. Quiet is the gap before the door opens. Quiet is somebody deciding something about you in a room you are not in. You learn to read…
Longview families looking for a free, supervised place where a teenager can spend part of Friday afternoon have a practical option today. The City of Longview has scheduled a teen esports game day at Broughton Recreation Center from 4:15…
I pulled my own numbers this morning before I did anything else. Seven orders since August 29. Six of them came from X. One came from Google. Zero came from Facebook. Read that again. Zero. The plain English summary I sell a book off my…
There is a point where accountability has done its job. You told the truth. You admitted what happened. You apologized where an apology belonged. You made the repair that was available. You changed the next step. Then you kept hurting…
The first item sold on the site that became eBay was broken. That was not a mistake in the story. It was the proof. In September 1995, Pierre Omidyar launched AuctionWeb after spending Labor Day weekend writing code on his personal…
Your website can load in a second and still feel broken. The phone screen opens. The headline is tiny. The menu stacks on top of itself. A form field runs off the edge. The visitor pinches the page, drags sideways, misses a button, and…
A renter can pay an application fee, submit personal information, wait for approval, and only then receive a written flood notice with the lease paperwork. Texas already requires notice in certain situations. The real policy question is…
Longview has a community benefit tonight that puts education and animal rescue in the same room. The City of Longview's official calendar listing says “Let's Glow Bingo” is scheduled for Thursday, September 3, at Maude Cobb Convention…
There is no locked release date for my book. I have that written on the page in plain English, right in the questions section where anybody about to spend money will run into it. There is no locked date yet. The manuscript, the editing…
It was cool enough this morning to sit outside without the fan. That is the whole event. That is the news. For a long stretch of my life, September was not a month. It was a set of dates that belonged to other people. Somebody else picked…
Premier Dental Academy of Longview trains registered dental assistants. It has a campus on Gilmer Road, a twelve week program, and tuition printed on the front page. It also publishes a free directory of 232 dental offices across 28 East…
Go look at the signup box at the bottom of my site. It asks for an email address or a phone number, and the label tells you to fill in whichever you prefer. That is it. One box. You pick which kind it is. That was not a design flourish.…
I filed seven grievances trying to see the evidence the government was going to use against me. Here is what my own log says came back. One answer said NON-GRIEVABLE. One answer pointed at a different grievance number. One answer said I…
Some prayers are answered by a changed situation. The call comes. The door opens. The money clears. The test ends. The relationship repairs. You can point to the moment and say, “There. That is when the weight moved.” Other seasons do not…
Six years of war ended with eight paragraphs and a line of signatures on a gray battleship. The ceremony did not need a full morning. It took 27 minutes. On September 2, 1945, representatives of Japan and the Allied powers gathered aboard…
Most automation demos show the happy path. A form arrives. A record appears. A message sends. A task moves. Everybody watches the clean run and calls the system finished. The real test starts when step three fails at 2:14 on a Saturday…
You can spend an hour tailoring a résumé, answer every question, and submit the application without knowing whether a person will read it first. An automated tool may rank it. A screening system may score the language. A video platform…
If you are charged with a crime in Texas, your lawyer can show you every page of the State's file against you. Your lawyer cannot give you a copy of a single one of those pages. Not paper. Not a PDF. Not a photo on your phone. And a judge…
Friday morning I had a forty five minute drive to a meeting I already knew was going to be hard. I am not going to tell you what the meeting was. It does not matter for this. What matters is what was on the radio. The song Christian…
A lead used to cost me fifteen to twenty dollars. This month the same campaign, same offer, same landing page, was costing forty six. Nothing was broken. That is the part that took me a minute to see. The setup I run paid ads for a client…
Hurricane season does not end in August. It gets serious in September. The National Hurricane Center puts the statistical peak of the Atlantic season at September 10. The water is at its warmest, the upper winds relax, and disturbances…
The letter came last Friday. I am not going to tell you what the claim was for. That is mine. What I am going to tell you is what the letter does not tell you in plain English, which is that a denial is not the end of anything. It is the…
Somewhere between one hundred seventy five thousand and two hundred twenty five thousand people once gave me their email address. They came through the ads I ran for years for my e-commerce business. Real people who wanted to sell online…
Most people picture running a company from a browser. Twenty tabs. Three dashboards. A CRM that loads in six seconds if you are lucky. I run mine from a black screen with a blinking cursor. I am going to explain why, and then I am going…
Thomas David Nichols is twenty nine days old today. I have done this before. Twice. I have two older boys and I remember the first month with each of them, or I thought I did until this one. Here is what is different, and here is what is…
It costs me almost nothing to build a five hundred dollar website now. I am going to say that out loud because most people in my business will not, and because the moment you understand it, you understand what you are actually buying from…
In late August in East Texas you fish at first light or you do not fish. By nine the heat is on the water like a lid. By noon the bass have gone deep and so should you. The window is the hour on either side of sunrise, and I have built a…
I am not going to describe it. I am going to show you the log. Because the minute I describe what it is like to go without a shower, without a restroom, without a way to cut your own nails, somebody calls it a sob story. And they are…
Longview residents have a direct chance tonight to hear and speak about how the city's animal shelter describes dogs, defines holds, and plans community resources. The official September 2 agenda lists a 5:30 p.m. meeting of the Animal…
A bad start can feel bigger than it is. You wake up late. You miss the first thing. You read the wrong message. You lose twenty minutes to anger, worry, scrolling, or nothing you can even name. Then the real damage starts. You decide the…
By Ryan Nichols At about eleven in the morning on September 1, 1859, English astronomer Richard Carrington was studying sunspots when two brilliant patches appeared. He hurried to find a witness. By the time he returned, the light was…
By Ryan Nichols A website can capture the lead perfectly and still lose the customer. The form submits. The confirmation message appears. The email lands in an inbox. Maybe the CRM creates a record. Everybody assumes somebody will follow…
By Ryan Nichols Texas has paused state-agency spending on one major license plate reader system. The cameras already installed across Texas have not disappeared. On August 28, 2026, The Texas Tribune reported that Governor Greg Abbott…
By Ryan Nichols Longview's National Night Out season begins tonight with a free public kickoff at Maude Cobb Convention Center. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, at 100 Grand Boulevard. The City of Longview calendar…
By Ryan Nichols Everything cannot be the emergency. That does not mean nothing is serious. It means you cannot give five different problems the same first place and still expect yourself to think clearly. The overdue bill wants attention.…
By Ryan Nichols The first solar car did not carry a family, win a race, or travel across a state. It was fifteen inches long. On August 31, 1955, General Motors engineer William G. Cobb demonstrated a small model called the Sunmobile at…
By Ryan Nichols Texas can let you renew a driver license online, update an existing voter registration online, and check whether you are registered online. For most people registering to vote for the first time, the last step still…
By Ryan Nichols Some problems get smaller with time. Most of the problems keeping you awake do not. The unpaid bill does not become easier because you stopped opening the envelope. The difficult conversation does not become safer because…
By Ryan Nichols The most famous red telephone in history was not a red telephone. The direct link between Washington and Moscow began as a written communications system. Teletype equipment carried messages across a cable route, with radio…
By Ryan Nichols Texas has changed enormously since 2009. The legal wage floor has not. Texas adopts the federal minimum wage, which remains $7.25 an hour for covered nonexempt workers. That number has been in place since July 24, 2009.…
By Ryan Nichols The promise felt easier when you made it. You were clear. You were tired of the same problem. You knew what needed to change, and for a few hours the decision carried its own energy. Then the mood changed. The morning came…
By Ryan Nichols The map had more truth than the rider needed. It showed geography. It showed distance. It tried to place a growing underground railway inside the real shape of London. That accuracy made the system harder to use. Harry…
By Ryan Nichols A generator can keep an exit sign lit while the building becomes dangerously hot. That sentence explains the gap in this debate. Texas long-term-care facilities have emergency-planning duties, and many have backup power.…
By Ryan Nichols There is a version of faith that people perform when they are afraid to tell the truth. They say everything is fine because they think admitting pain would sound ungrateful. They hurry toward a lesson before they have…
On August 28, 2026, twenty-four days before jury selection in my Harrison County case, I went to the office of my court-appointed lawyer, James M. Terry. I went there to review the State’s evidence, understand what was still missing, and…
By Ryan Nichols On the first official night, the system looked too large for the result. Federal Express had 389 team members and 14 aircraft. They moved 186 packages to 25 American cities. That is fewer than 14 packages per airplane. If…
By Ryan Nichols Texas is good at announcing the check. A college receives a workforce grant. Employers stand beside state officials. The release names the amount, the industries, and the number of people expected to receive training.…
I want to show the defense bar one line. Not a speech. Not a story. One line, written by the jail, on a grievance form, with a date on it. "INMATE WILL BE PUT ON DISCOVERY LIST." Dated June 2, 2022. Read it again. Not "the inmate has…
By Ryan Nichols Some people do not ask for help because they think they can handle the problem. Others do not ask because saying it out loud would make the problem real. So they wait. The payment gets later. The deadline gets closer. The…

By Ryan Nichols The drill stopped on a Saturday. It had reached 69.5 feet near Titusville, Pennsylvania. The work had consumed time and money, the company had lost patience, and the men operating the rig had not yet seen the result they…
By Ryan Nichols A roof can be old and sound. It can also be old and one storm away from becoming an expensive claim. Texas is moving toward a rule that would stop insurers from refusing to write or renew a residential property policy…
My business line took 36 robocalls in three days. Not 36 calls. 36 calls from the same campaign, using at least 35 different phone numbers, all in one area code. And here is the part that stung. My own AI receptionist answered them.…
By Ryan Nichols There is a kind of punishment that looks like responsibility. You replay the mistake. You keep the embarrassment close. You remind yourself what the bad decision cost. You refuse to feel relief because relief seems too…
The final act was quiet. On the morning of August 26, 1920, Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby signed the proclamation certifying that the Nineteenth Amendment had become part of the Constitution. The Library of Congress describes the…
Texas lawmakers have already said what they want: stop changing the clocks and keep daylight saving time all year. The clocks still change. That is not because the Texas law disappeared. It is because the state wrote a condition into it…
Some days are not going to become good days by noon. The energy is low. The plan is already behind. A conversation went badly. A bill, deadline, mistake, or unanswered message is sitting in the middle of everything. You can spend the rest…
By Ryan Nichols The sentence sounds simple until you try to obey both halves. Conserve the place. Let people enjoy the place. Leave it unimpaired for people who have not been born yet. On August 25, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed…
By Ryan Nichols A customer can spend ten minutes explaining a problem before realizing nobody human was listening. That does not make the bot useless. A good automated system can find an order, reset a password, answer a routine question,…
By Ryan Nichols Being needed can feel like proof that you matter. The phone rings because you are the dependable one. The message lands because you usually know what to do. The extra problem finds your desk because people have learned…
By Ryan Nichols On August 24, 1995, people lined up outside stores to buy an operating system. Think about how strange that sounds. They were not waiting for a concert ticket, a new car, or a game console. They were waiting for software…
By Ryan Nichols A yellow school bus can be one of the safest vehicles on the road and still become miserable in August. Those two facts can exist at the same time. Texas regulates school buses down to lights, mirrors, exits, seating,…
By Ryan Nichols Some excuses are lies. Some are facts. The money really did run out. The person really did leave. The opportunity really was unfair. The call really did come at the worst possible time. You really are tired. You really…
By Ryan Nichols At 7 p.m. on August 23, 1989, people stopped being a crowd and became a line. The line began in Tallinn, passed through Riga, and reached Vilnius. It crossed cities, villages, highways, fields, and three Baltic countries…
By Ryan Nichols A Texas school can teach children to read, improve test results, graduate more students, and still face a lower state rating under a proposal tied to one disputed library book. That is the enforcement idea Texas Lt. Gov.…
