Ryan's Take

Highly Loyal Until I'm Not

If you tell a man you'll pay him for a job, you pay him. I'm highly loyal until I'm not. Kindness is not weakness. Break the trust and I burn the bridge.

I'm going to address some things.

You may not agree with them. You may.

This is just me, as a man, and how I operate.

The short version

I'm highly loyal.

Until I'm not.

A man's word

If you say you're going to do something, you do it.

If you say you're going to pay somebody for doing a job, you pay them.

If you make an agreement and say, "I'm going to take care of you over here," then you take care of them.

The moment you stop doing that, the agreement's over.

Where I've been wrong

I've been wrong about this too many times.

I want to see the good in people. And because I want to see the good in them, I let them take advantage of me.

I keep hoping I can talk to them and work through it.

That's really not the case. Typically, people are the way they are, and they're not going to change.

Kindness is not weakness

What I don't like is men and women who mistake my kindness for weakness.

They tell me they're going to do something. They do the complete opposite. Then they act like I should just take it.

You don't have to take it.

I'm not for everybody

I know I've drawn a lot of criticism because I put things out there publicly.

That makes a lot of people not want to work with me. I'm okay with that.

I know myself. I'm not going to fit with everybody. I'm not everybody's slice of pie or cup of tea.

Why I burn it publicly

Once you break that trust, I can't ever trust you again.

When I get there, I burn the bridge. And I typically burn it publicly, so you and everybody else know I won't be going back there again.

When you see me say things publicly, that's me burning the ships and burning the bridge at the same time.

And it's not just for other people. Sometimes it's for me. It's how I hold myself accountable.

You can't go back there no more, Ryan.

I ain't going back.

What I said (RYAN STATEMENT)

From the video, in my own words. No names. No accusations. This is how I operate:

  • "If you as a man say that you're going to do something, and you're going to pay something to somebody for them doing a job, you do that."
  • "What I don't like is men and women who mistake my kindness for weakness."
  • "I'm highly loyal until I'm not."
  • "When you see me say things publicly, know that that's me burning the ships and burning the bridge all at the same time."
  • "Sometimes it's about me, and holding myself accountable. I ain't going back."
