Thomas

Look at Thomas’s smile.

His family says he is just two and a half months old. He is growing through a stage that lasts only a little while. Ryan is missing time with him while held in Harrison County Jail.

Put yourself in that position. Your baby is at home. You want to hold him, hear him, comfort him and watch him change. Instead, your days pass behind a locked door while your family challenges the reason you are there.

A court date can be moved. A baby’s first months cannot.

Ryan’s family maintains that he has complied with his bond conditions and is being wrongfully detained. They want the orders and the explanation for his continued confinement. They want Ryan home, working, supporting his family and moving forward with his life.

Those demands deserve a documented answer.

The children are living through this, too

Emma is part of this family’s story, too. So are Ryan’s older boys.

Amanda and Emma

His family says he has already missed years of his older boys’ lives. They describe Thomas as another chance for Ryan to be present from the beginning—to be there for the ordinary, irreplaceable moments of raising an infant.

A father’s absence reaches beyond a jail cell. It reaches the home, the children and the person trying to keep the family going while asking for answers.

Every day matters. No explanation months from now can return the day a family needed him beside them.

Harrison County: show the basis for keeping him there

The family’s position is clear: Ryan should be with his children, and they dispute the lawfulness of his current detention.

Harrison County’s responsible officials and the court should make the legal basis clear through the appropriate records and proceedings. Identify the current holding order. Identify the alleged bond-condition violation. Produce the relevant hearing record.

The Texas Constitution, Article I, Section 19, protects liberty through due course of law. The family’s demand is that this protection be honored in Ryan’s case.

We stand with their demand for Ryan’s release unless a lawful, documented basis for holding him is established.

What if this were your family?

What if you believed you had followed every condition, yet found yourself separated from your infant while your family struggled to get clear answers?

Who would speak up for you?

People across East Texas can speak up for this family’s demand for answers. Share their account. Ask reporters and responsible public officials to examine the records. Insist that the reason for continued detention be explained through a fair process.

Thomas keeps growing. Emma and the rest of Ryan’s family keep living these days without him. They need answers now.

Source note: This article presents the family’s account and three family-supplied photographs, provided October 17, 2026. The children’s first names and Thomas’s approximate age were supplied by the family. The statements about bond compliance and wrongful detention are the family’s position; the complete court orders and bond conditions have not been authenticated for this article. The constitutional reference does not establish a ruling in Ryan’s case.
