I Advertised a Workshop Seven Times and Never Posted the Link
Seven workshop posts fired on time with zero errors. Six of them had no link in them at all, and the landing page had no checkout. Delivery is not demand.

I ran a countdown to my own workshop for five days straight.
Every post fired on time. Zero errors. The machine did exactly what I built it to do.
Not one of those posts had a link in it.
Read that again. I spent five days telling people about an event and never once told them where to go.
The plain English version
I have a workshop Thursday. September 17, Longview, Texas. Ninety minutes, ten seats.
I built a system that posts for me. It has been running clean for a week. Seven posts a day, on the grid, no failures.
This morning I stopped looking at whether the posts went out and went and read what was actually inside them.
Seven workshop posts total. One of them carried a registration link. That one fired on September 10.
The other six carried nothing. Just the date and the pitch.
And the registration table has zero rows in it.
Why this matters to you and not just to me
If you are running any kind of promotion right now, you are probably measuring the same thing I was measuring.
Did it post. Did it send. Did it go out.
Those are all questions about your effort. None of them is a question about the customer.
A green status light tells you the machine ran. It does not tell you the machine ran toward anything.
The receipt
FACT. Seven posts in my queue mention the workshop, Longview, the $97 price, or the seat count.
| Post | Fired | Carried a link |
|---|---|---|
| Row 2 | Sep 10 | Yes |
| Row 390 | Sep 11 | No |
| Row 378 | Sep 12 | No |
| Row 204 | Sep 13 | No |
| Row 290 | Sep 14 | No |
| Row 312 | Sep 15 | No |
| Row 175 | Sep 17 | No |
FACT. Row 208 is queued for tomorrow. It reads, in full: "It will not be $97 again." No link.
FACT. The registration page is live. I fetched it this morning. HTTP 200, title "ChatGPT for Business Owners | Longview Workshop."
FACT. event_registrations holds one row and its status is cancelled. workshop_registrations holds zero rows. Those numbers have not moved in four days.
The part I did not expect
While I was checking whether the page was up, I read what is actually on it.
FACT. The workshop page has exactly one form on it. It posts to an endpoint called interest.
There is no checkout on that page. No payment link. No Stripe button. Nothing that creates a registration.
FACT. Zero interest submissions have landed either.
So the honest chain looks like this:
Posts with no link.
No clicks.
No interest submissions.
And even if somebody had found the page on their own, there was no way to buy a seat.
RYAN STATEMENT. A seat did sell. It sold because somebody talked to me directly, outside every system on this list. That is the only reason the number is not a pure zero.
What I say about it
I am not going to dress this up.
I built the machine. The machine is good. It has run for a week without me touching it and it will keep running after this workshop is over.
And I spent five days admiring that it was running instead of reading what it was carrying.
That is my fault and it is a specific kind of fault. It is the fault of a builder who fell in love with the build.
I catch this in other people's businesses constantly. Somebody has a beautiful posting schedule and a dead phone line. Somebody has a thousand followers and no email list. Somebody spends money on ads that point at a page with nothing to click.
I caught it in mine two days late.
What needs authentication
NEEDS AUTHENTICATION. I cannot prove nobody ever tried to sign up. I can only prove nothing landed in any table I own. Somebody could have tried, hit a page with no checkout, and left without a trace. That is the most likely version and I cannot document it.
NEEDS AUTHENTICATION. I do not know how many people saw those six linkless posts. The impression numbers live on the platform, not in my database.
What this does not prove
It does not prove nobody wants the workshop. You cannot measure demand for something you never gave anybody a way to buy.
It does not prove the posting system is broken. The posting system is not broken. It posted every single thing I put in it, on time, without a single error.
It does not prove the page is broken. The page loads fine. It is just an interest form wearing a sales page's clothes.
What it does prove
Delivery is not demand.
Every campaign has an outcome table somewhere. Find it and read it, or you are measuring your own effort and calling it results.
And the check is cheaper than you think. It took me one query to count the posts and one fetch to read the page. Two minutes of work that I did not do for five days because the dashboard was green.
What I am doing about it
The workshop is Thursday. There are two posts left in the queue before it.
I am not going to quietly patch the copy and pretend the week went differently. The record is the record.
If you own a business in East Texas and you have been waiting for a reason, here is the page, with the link I should have been posting all along:
Reserve a seat, September 17, Longview
And if you are reading this thinking about your own funnel, go do the two minute version right now. Open the last thing you promoted. Read the actual words. Ask whether there is a way to click.
If there is not, you already know what your numbers are going to say.
Do not threaten anyone. Do not harass anyone. Do not contact anyone in my name.
Read it. Share it. Send it to somebody who is running a campaign into a wall.
If you want the version of this where I go find the holes in your system instead of mine, that is what I do: Services. Or call me at (903) 500-8898.
If you would rather just keep the lights on here so I can keep publishing what I find, that is Fuel.
