Two Out of Eight Weeks Gone. I Had Two Options.

I was in jail for two weeks of an eight-week semester. I could quit and pay it back, or do the work. Here is what I did.

Recorded on the drive home from class, November 5, 2026.

I was in jail for two of the eight weeks in my semester.

I should not have been.

Two out of eight weeks. That's a quarter of the class, gone.

The short version

I'm back in school at Panola College on my GI Bill. Texas Government. Music Appreciation. Personal Finance. Eight-week classes.

I missed two of those weeks. I had a decision to make.

Only two options

  1. Quit, and pay back what the school already paid for.
  2. Do the work it takes to pass.

That's it. Those are the only two.

So many people burn time trying to build a third option. Maybe there is one. But how long does it take to build it, when you could just do the work?

What I did

I took the class. I gave it my all.

I talked to my instructors. I talked to the dean. I asked if they would help me work through it.

If they did, great. If they didn't, great.

They did.

Now I'm cramming eight weeks into four.

Why I'm telling you this

Because most of life works this way.

You owe the money, or you owe the effort. You can quit and pay for it, or you can do the work and pass.

Pick one. Then go all in.

What I said (RYAN STATEMENT)

In my own words, from the video and from my week.

  • "I was in jail for two of those eight weeks. Shouldn't have been in jail."
  • "You owe that money, or you owe the time and the effort that it takes to pass or fail the class."
  • "Those are your only two options. There's no other options."
  • On school: I'm using my GI Bill, and they gave me a chance to stay in class and catch up.

Pick one. Do the work.

You made it to the end

Most people quit at the headline. You didn’t.

So don’t stop here. Pick one.
