Gregg County Early Voting for the 2026 Midterms: Every Location, Hour and Deadline

Monday, October 5 is the last day to register.

Early voting opens Monday, October 19.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

In Gregg County, the 2026 midterms come down to a few dates, 17 doors and the ID in your wallet.

If you live in Gregg County, here is every door you can walk through to vote, the hours each one is open, and the deadlines that trip people up. I pulled all of it from the county elections office and the Texas Secretary of State this week, and linked every page so you can check me.

Some overseas and military voters have different mail ballot deadlines. The Secretary of State's election dates page spells those out.

Not registered? You have until October 5

Texas requires you to register by the 30th day before Election Day. For this election that is Monday, October 5.

Start an application or check your status through VoteTexas.gov, or use the county's Am I Registered page.

Mailing your application? The Secretary of State warns that some mail does not get postmarked the same day it is collected. Walk it into a post office and ask for a manual postmark at the counter. It is free, and it puts the right date on your envelope.

The Election Center on Methvin Street is an early voting site. It is not on the Election Day list.

Three locations are gone. Here is what replaced them.

• Kilgore Community Center was demolished. The county lists the JP3 Service Center in Kilgore as its replacement, marked "coming soon." It is not on the November 3 Election Day list. The two Kilgore sites on that list are Hugh Camp Memorial Park (the Boy Scout Hut) and Meadowbrook Event Center.
• Greggton Community Center was decommissioned. Greggton Global Methodist Church, 803 Gilmer Rd., replaces it, for Election Day only.
• Community Connections is for sale. The county lists its replacement as pending.

Bring one of these seven photo IDs

• Texas driver license, issued by DPS
• Texas Election Identification Certificate, issued by DPS
• Texas personal identification card, issued by DPS
• Texas handgun license, issued by DPS
• U.S. military identification card with your photo
• U.S. citizenship certificate with your photo
• U.S. passport, book or card

If you are 18 to 69, your ID can be expired up to four years. If you are 70 or older, it can be expired for any length of time as long as it is otherwise valid. The citizenship certificate does not expire.

No photo ID and cannot reasonably get one? You can still vote a regular ballot. Show a supporting document, like your voter registration certificate, a current utility bill, a bank statement, a government check or a paycheck, and sign a Reasonable Impediment Declaration. You have to actually have one of the impediments listed on that form, and lying on it is a crime.

Have your ID but left it at home? You can vote provisionally and show the ID to the voter registrar within six days, or go get it and come back before the polls close.

Voting by mail in Gregg County

The county lists five ways to qualify for a mail ballot:

1. You are 65 or older.
2. You are disabled. You sign a statement that a sickness or physical condition keeps you from voting in person without likely needing help or hurting your health.
3. You expect to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day.
4. You will be out of town during the election.
5. You are confined in jail during the election.

The law requires an ID number on the application: your Texas driver license number, your Texas ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number. The county suggests putting both, because the number has to match your voter registration record.

Mail the application to: Early Voting Clerk, P.O. Box 2827, Longview, TX 75606. Or get the forms on the county's Vote by Mail page.

The application must be received by Friday, October 23. Received, not postmarked.

One heads up. The county's vote by mail page labels that deadline "MON, OCT 23, 2026." October 23, 2026 is a Friday. The county's own November election page and the Secretary of State both say Friday, October 23. Go by the date. Better yet, do not wait for it.

The Governor's ballot certification covers most federal, state and county offices. City, school and other local measures are on the sample ballots. If standing in line is hard

Texas law lets an election officer move a voter with a mobility problem to the front of the line, along with the person helping them. The county's posted notice lists conditions like using a cane, brace, crutch or wheelchair, using portable oxygen, or not being able to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest.

Tell any election officer when you get there. The presiding judge decides, and an election officer cannot require you to prove the condition.
