Breanna Morello Said Ryan Nichols Was ‘Not Being Truthful.’ Here’s What the Record Shows

On July 20, Breanna Morello publicly wrote that Ryan Nichols was “spewing false claims.” In a later reply, she said he was “not being truthful.”

Those are serious words.

Instead of answering them with another round of labels, this article puts the posts in order, links to the available sources, and separates what the record establishes from what remains disputed.

Facts first: how the exchange developed

July 18: Morello reports on the Tate extradition case

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Central on July 18, Morello posted that Andrew and Tristan Tate intended to fight extradition to the United Kingdom, attributing the information to their attorney.

That post did not mention Ryan Nichols.

The underlying arrest and extradition proceedings were independently confirmed. The United Kingdom’s Crown Prosecution Service said the brothers were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service on July 18 and that British prosecutors would seek extradition. The brothers deny wrongdoing and are presumed innocent unless convicted.

July 19: Nichols responds

At approximately 7:27 a.m. Central on July 19, Nichols posted a video responding to Morello’s report.

Nichols’ post broadened the conversation beyond Morello’s report and included several serious claims concerning separate disputes. Those claims are not repeated or linked here because the public sources reviewed for this article do not independently establish them, and this article is not a report on those active matters.

July 20: the dispute becomes personal

At approximately 1:46 p.m. Central on July 20, Nichols posted a screenshot showing that X displayed Morello’s account as blocking him. He also criticized her conduct.

The screenshot establishes one narrow fact: X displayed Morello’s account as blocking Nichols at that moment. It does not establish why the block occurred.

At approximately 3:12 p.m. Central, Morello replied publicly. She wrote, “The only one that’s changed is you,” and accused Nichols of “spewing false claims.” She also said she hoped he would get help.

In a later reply, Morello wrote:

“Because he’s not being truthful.”

Her response appeared directly beneath a Nichols post containing several serious claims. Readers could reasonably understand her as broadly disputing those claims.

However, in the captured exchange, Morello did not identify which specific statement she considered false or attach a source supporting her conclusion.

At approximately 7:43 p.m., Nichols claimed Morello had repeatedly unblocked him to comment and then blocked him again.

The available screenshot confirms that Nichols was blocked at one point. The complete sequence he described cannot be independently established from the public snapshots reviewed.

Minutes later, Nichols answered Morello’s statement, wrote that he had brought “receipts,” used personal labels, and made an additional speculative claim. The public thread did not prove that speculation. It should not be treated as an established fact.

What the linked record confirms

None of this decides every underlying dispute. It identifies what this particular public exchange proves and where the available evidence stops.

Ryan’s Take

I do not want this website to become a place where I demand documents from everyone else while giving myself a pass.

If Breanna Morello believes I made a false statement, I want her to identify it precisely. Put the exact sentence on the screen. Put the supporting evidence beside it. Ask me for my response. Then let the public examine all of it.

Her reply was directly beneath my post, so it is fair to say she was disputing the serious accusations I raised. It is also fair to ask which claim she meant and what evidence supports her conclusion.

I also reacted hard. I called Breanna names, and I made an additional speculative statement in my final post. The public thread did not prove that speculation. I should have labeled it clearly instead of throwing it into the argument as though readers could independently verify it.

If I demand a facts-first standard from reporters, lawyers, public officials, and everybody else, I have to apply that standard to myself.

That does not mean I withdraw every concern I have raised. It means concerns, evidence, allegations, opinions, and proven facts must be labeled honestly.

Facts first. Then my take.

That is the standard I want for this site.
