He was there with a camera. (WOOD TV 8) FACT: West Michigan reporting is headlined on his own words: he was "appalled" by what he saw that day. (WOOD TV 8) FACT: He was charged with four counts, all misdemeanors: entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. No assault charge. No weapon charge. No property damage charge. FACT: The tip that led the FBI to him came from a hospital visit — he was treated on January 7, 2021 for a spinal injury sustained that day. He told medical staff plainly where he had been. (WOOD TV 8) He was hurt, he told the truth about how, and that truth is what brought the FBI to his door. He still walked in on his own. FACT: On January 20, 2025, the presidential proclamation granting pardons for offenses relating to January 6, 2021 applies to January 6 defendants, including those with pending or resolved misdemeanor charges.
