They Said I Was Finished. I Built a School That Puts People Into $42k Jobs.

For a long stretch of my life, the official story was that I was done. Finished. A cautionary tale.

Let me show you what a finished man builds.

In Longview, Texas, there is a dental assistant school called Premier Dental Academy. I built the platform it runs on. I built the software the students train on. Amanda Williams runs the school. I built the machine underneath it.

Here is why it matters, and it has almost nothing to do with me.

Most trade schools hand you a textbook and a certificate and wish you luck. You walk into your first real office and freeze, because you have never touched the software the office actually uses. Premier does it backwards, on purpose. Students train on real-grade practice management software for hundreds of hours before their first day. They chart real teeth. They submit real-format insurance claims. They run a front desk and they work a chair. So on day one, in any office in East Texas, they already know what to do.

I did not build a slideshow. I built working software. A front-desk trainer called Practice Pro where you book patients, take payments, and file claims. A chairside trainer where you step into a real operatory and learn your job before you have it. You can try both right now, free, no signup, on their website. That was the whole point. Take the fear out of the leap before anybody spends a dollar.

And look at who takes the leap. About seven in ten students walk in with no dental background at all. A lot of them are single moms and career-changers who were told the same thing I was told. That the good chapters were behind them. Twelve weeks later they are Registered Dental Assistants with a certificate East Texas offices ask for by name. More than eight in ten Premier graduates are working in East Texas dental offices, a lot of them with an offer inside their graduation week.

That is a starting wage in the forties for somebody who three months earlier did not know where to start. That is a car payment made. Rent covered. A kid watching their mom put on scrubs and become somebody the whole family leans on.

There is even a Sponsor-a-Student program, where a local business can cover a seat for somebody who cannot swing tuition. An angel tree for careers. You train, you get hired, East Texas gets one more working RDA. Everybody wins.

Now hear me on the part that is actually about the comeback.

I did not build this to prove the doubters wrong. I built it because I know exactly what it feels like to be told your good years are spent. And I know the only thing that answer is worth is what you build after it. They wanted a cautionary tale. I keep handing them working software and hired graduates instead.

This is the ledger. Not talk. Not a comeback tour. Receipts. A real school, in a real town, putting real people into real jobs. Built by a man who was supposed to be finished.

If you know somebody in East Texas who thinks their good chapters are behind them, send them this. A career change is not a fantasy. It is twelve weeks and a decision.

And if you own a business and you have watched me build things, know this. I can build one for you too. But today is not about me. Today is about the single mom in Longview who is about to walk into her first office already knowing exactly what to do.
