Three times on this ledger I have written about the book with no link to give you.
I wrote about why I am writing it. I wrote about the rule of writing it in order. I wrote about the cut list. Every one of those pieces ended the same way: the door is not open yet.
The door is open.
Fighting Shadows is available for pre-order, direct from my own site, before it ever goes to Amazon.
Read the price twice
The early digital edition is $17.76 at launch. The regular price is $29.99.
Seventeen seventy six.
Read it again. Some numbers do not need a paragraph.
What the book is
The book page says it straight. Fighting Shadows is a memoir: my first-person account of January 6, the road that led me there, the nearly four years I spent inside the federal system, and the fight to put the full record in public view.
Where something rests on my recollection, the book says so. Where there are records, the book points at the records. That has been the rule of this site since day one, and the book was written under the same rule.
And it does not stand alone. It sits on top of the public archive you can already read for free. The book is the story. The archive is the receipts.
Three doors in
Three editions, three ways to stand on the record.
The Early Release Digital Edition, $17.76 at launch. You read it first, the moment it is ready, and you get every book update along the way.
The Signed Paperback, $79. A signed copy when it is printed, plus the digital edition.
The Founding Supporter Edition, $250, limited to 250 copies. Signed and numbered, access to the evidence appendix when it is available, and your name listed as an early supporter only if you choose to opt in. Otherwise your purchase stays private.
Three editions, three prices
The honest fine print
I hold everybody else to a receipts standard, so the honest parts of this offer sit on the page in plain sight.
There is no locked ship date yet. The book page says so plainly, and instead of promising a date I cannot guarantee, every milestone gets posted on a public updates page.
Refunds are simple: a full refund anytime before your edition ships. One email and it is done.
And a pre-order here is a purchase, not a gift. This site does not take donations. It never has. You buy something, you own something. That is the deal.
Why direct, and why first
Somebody will ask why the book launches on my own site instead of Amazon.
Because this whole platform exists so my story can never be buried, throttled, or unpublished again. It would be a strange thing to write that book and then hand the launch of it to somebody else's algorithm.
Buying direct funds the work directly, and it puts the early editions in the hands of the people who carried this record with me from the start. Amazon can have it after you do.
The bottom line
For months this book was a discipline. A rule about writing in order. A cut list. A stack of records on a desk.
Today it is a door with a handle on it.
The rule of this ledger is that only shipped work gets a line. The pre-order shipped. The book gets its line.
