There is a reason I have been demanding the bodycam, the dispatch audio, the CAD records, the church cameras, the police report, and every witness statement.
Because this story has changed.
And now there is video showing why that matters.
In the video I reviewed, Kacie Costello first tries to frame the church parking lot incident as if I randomly started something. She says I "had to initiate a conversation / altercation," and she says witnesses gave statements. She also says I called 911 first, like that somehow makes me the problem.

In her own messages, the other side's account is that they "planned to get in our vehicle and just leave" — before I made the first call to 911.

The same thread, continued.
But then the story starts changing.
In a public comment shown in the video, Kacie says:
"Jon was to the point of getting violent. I was making sure that didn't happen. I didn't want him to get his first jail visit over this guy. He's not worth it."

Her own public comment — saying Jon was "to the point of getting violent."
That matters.
Because that is not the language of someone describing a calm, passive husband who was simply minding his own business. That is Kacie saying Jon was "to the point of getting violent" and that she was trying to prevent it.
Then Jon appears in the video and says:
"I guess he was worried about the words of Jesus getting smack him in his face…"
That matters too.
Because now the same people who tried to frame me as the aggressor are openly talking about Jon being "to the point of getting violent" and joking about the "words of Jesus" smacking me in the face.
That is why I want the bodycam released.
That is why I want the church cameras released.
That is why I want the dispatch audio released.
That is why I want the CAD records released.
That is why I want every public statement, every text message, every witness version, every screenshot, and every video put on the record.
I am not asking for secrecy. I am asking for transparency.
I am not asking anyone to take my word for it. I am asking for the evidence.
What I Deny
- I deny drawing a firearm.
- I deny pointing a firearm.
- I deny brandishing a firearm.
- I deny pulling a gun on anyone at church.
- I deny shooting anyone.
- I deny threatening anyone.
The public story has now been twisted into something it was not. That is exactly why the official evidence matters.
What the Video Shows
The video shows multiple pieces that need to be preserved and authenticated.
- First, Kacie frames the situation as if I started it.
- Second, Kacie admits Jon was "to the point of getting violent."
- Third, Jon makes a statement about me being worried about "the words of Jesus" smacking me in the face.
- Fourth, another public comment shown in the video says someone should have "kick[ed] his ass," while also acknowledging there was a gun allegation being discussed publicly.

The wider public comment thread — including the reply that someone "needs to kick his ass" and a mention of the gun claim. (A third party's name is visible in this public thread.)
That is not nothing.
That is a source-chain.
That is how a story changes.
That is how a misdemeanor allegation can become a public-safety rumor.
That is how "hand near a firearm" becomes "pulled a gun."
That is how "church parking lot disagreement" becomes "Ryan shot someone at church."
That is why every second of bodycam needs to be preserved.
I Called Law Enforcement Because I Wanted a Record
They keep acting like the fact that I called 911 somehow proves I did something wrong.
No.
I called law enforcement because I wanted the record preserved.
- I wanted officers there.
- I wanted cameras there.
- I wanted statements documented.
- I wanted the truth recorded.
And now that the public narrative has shifted, I want that official record released.
Release the Evidence
- Release the bodycam.
- Release the CAD.
- Release the dispatch audio.
- Release the 911 or non-emergency call audio.
- Release the police report.
- Release the officer notes.
- Release the church camera footage.
- Release every witness statement.
- Release every version of the story.
- Release the public posts and screenshots that show how this rumor spread.
Redact children's information. Redact private addresses. Redact private phone numbers. Redact medical information. Redact legally protected personal information.
But release the truth.
This Is Bigger Than a Misdemeanor
People want to act like this is "just a misdemeanor."
- It is not "just a misdemeanor" when the story is used to take your guns.
- It is not "just a misdemeanor" when the story is used to restrict your speech.
- It is not "just a misdemeanor" when the story is used to threaten your liberty.
- It is not "just a misdemeanor" when people online start calling you dangerous, violent, or guilty before the record is even public.
- It is not "just a misdemeanor" when people start saying you pulled a gun at church.
- It is not "just a misdemeanor" when the rumor keeps growing until people are claiming things that never happened.
The record matters. The truth matters. The source matters. The first version matters. The bodycam matters.
My Position
I am an independent investigative journalist. I publish my record publicly because I have been lied about publicly.
I am not asking anyone to harass Kacie Costello, Jon Costello, or anyone else. Do not contact them. Do not threaten anyone. Do not harass anyone. Do not dox anyone.
I am asking for the evidence to be preserved, produced, and made public after lawful redactions.
If they told the truth, the bodycam will show it.
If I am telling the truth, the bodycam will show it.
So release it.
Because right now, based on Kacie's own words, Jon was "to the point of getting violent."
And based on Jon's own words, he was talking about the "words of Jesus" smacking me in the face.
That is not my imagination.
That is on video.
Now release the rest.
Don't lose this story to an algorithm.
