William Patrick Sarsfield, III
January 6 defendant
Documented editorial-use imageWilliam Patrick Sarsfield III — Gun Barrel City, Texas. FACT — AND READ THIS ONE TWICE: HE HELPED A WOUNDED POLICE OFFICER GET OUT. After police cleared the tunnel, Sarsfield went down the stairs toward the officers, helped MPD Officer Morris Moore to his feet, asked if he could take him somewhere safe, and — with one other man — escorted that officer to a waiting ambulance. This is not a rumor. It is in an FBI report. (Dallas Express; FBI interview document) FACT: He never entered the Capitol building. Not once. (Dallas Express) FACT: The government also charged, and a jury found, that he entered the tunnel three separate times and pushed against the police line while rioters chanted. Both things are in the same record. A man can do a bad thing and a good thing inside the same hour, and this site is not going to pretend otherwise in either direction. (DOJ) FACT: In November 2024 a jury convicted him of felony obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder plus misdemeanor counts. He was arrested 2/14/2023 in Texas. (DOJ) FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued clemency in January 6 cases. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: No verified fundraiser or self-published account located. If Officer Moore or his family ever wants to speak to what happened at those stairs, this page is open to them too. THE CASE RECORD U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
