William John Wyatt Gallman is a Fountain Inn, South Carolina man whose January 6 case ran alongside two of his neighbors from the same small Upstate town. FACT: Gallman was arrested September 27, 2022 in connection with the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, along with two other Fountain Inn, South Carolina residents, according to court documents and South Carolina press coverage. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: Prosecutors say the three walked together from the pro-Trump rally at the Ellipse to the Capitol and entered the building together around 2:20 p.m., spending about 25 minutes inside before leaving. Court records state all three gave voluntary interviews to the FBI and confirmed they had entered the building. That level of cooperation with investigators is part of the record too. FACT: Gallman pleaded guilty to Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. FACT: He was sentenced August 21, 2023 to 18 months probation, $1,000 fine, $500 restitution, and 50 hours of community service. No incarceration. FACT: On January 20, 2025, William Gallman received a full and unconditional pardon. RYAN STATEMENT: Neighbors who walk into something together and walk out and cooperate with the FBI together are not the hardened conspirators the worst headlines made every January 6 defendant out to be. Community service, probation, cooperation, and a pardon. That is the arc here. FACT: William Gallman's case moved on the same timeline, with the same charge and the same sentence, as the co-defendants who walked in beside him. Federal prosecutors did not single him out for harsher treatment than his neighbors, which is its own kind of data point about how the government weighed his conduct that day. This is the record. Read it. Share it. Put eyes on the record. CASE RECORD: U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested September 27, 2022. Sentenced August 21, 2023. Full pardon January 20, 2025.
