William Bierbrodt was a veteran from St. Cloud, Florida, and the brother of a retired Illinois Army National Guardsman. The two brothers were charged together in their January 6 case (FACT, per the Justice Department and the Chicago Sun-Times). Here is the record. Bierbrodt was accused of using a cane to help break into the Capitol after arriving at the building on a mobility scooter, and of breaking glass during the breach (CHARGE ONLY, per NBC News and Click Orlando, citing the criminal complaint; this is an allegation, not a confirmed conviction in this archive's record). A DOJ complaint was filed July 24, 2023, and he was arrested July 26, 2023 (FACT, per DOJ record). William Bierbrodt passed away in December 2023 (FACT, per his published obituary, News Tribune / Legacy.com and Ptak Funeral Home), not long after his arrest. This archive's record shows no further docket activity after the complaint and arrest, consistent with the case not reaching further resolution before his death. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: the archive has not independently confirmed the case's final disposition status with the court. This profile is preserved with respect for his family and his service. Case record: 23-mj-00180, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Complaint filed 7/24/23. Arrested 7/26/23. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
