Court documents state that Whitney Johnson and Andrew Joshua Johnson, 39, are a married couple, and the two of them were arrested together on February 22, 2024, in Vero Beach. Local coverage ran them as the Vero Beach couple. (WQCS, Vero News) FACT: She and her husband attended the Stop the Steal rally in Washington on January 6, 2021, and walked to the Capitol from there. THE CHARGES, AS CHARGES CHARGE ONLY: Whitney Johnson was charged with civil disorder, assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, and six additional misdemeanor and petty counts. Prosecutors alleged she yelled at an officer and struck the officer with an open hand in the Rotunda. Those allegations were never tested at trial, never presented to a jury, and never proven. She is presumed innocent of every count. HER LEGAL FIGHT FACT: Whitney Johnson pleaded NOT GUILTY to all charges. She took no deal. A jury trial was set for February 10, 2025, and she was walking into it. FACT: The trial never happened.
