Tim Levon Boughner is a Romeo, Michigan man whose mother asked a federal court to let him come home, and whose January 6 case closed without a trial. The court said no. He stayed in custody. That is the part of the Tim Boughner story nobody wrote a headline about. FACT: At his January 12, 2022 detention hearing, his mother offered to serve as his third party custodian so he could be released to her. The court declined and he was returned to custody. His federal public defender was James McHugh, as reported by Law&Crime. THEIR ACCOUNT: He told the court the statements prosecutors attributed to him were not his: "I did not say these things."
