FACT: According to the FBI statement of facts in her case, Suzanne Kahler and her husband Ralph entered through the Senate Wing door at roughly 3:07 p.m. on January 6, 2021, while an alarm was sounding. They took photographs. They left. The government obtained one of those photos after Ralph sent it to others. FACT: Suzanne Kahler was arrested on July 6, 2023, in Great Falls, Virginia, two and a half years after the fact. FACT: She was charged with one count: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. That is a petty offense. No assault charge. No weapon charge. No conspiracy charge. Nobody alleged she hurt a soul. FACT: She pleaded guilty to that one count. On February 2, 2024, Suzanne Kahler was sentenced to 12 months of probation with 30 days of location monitoring, a $1,098 fine, $500 in restitution, a $10 special assessment, and 40 hours of community service.
