Steven Hassel is a San Antonio, Texas man who was 26 years old when federal agents arrested him. Twenty six. He was 22 on January 6, 2021. FACT: FBI agents arrested Steven Hassel on August 28, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. The Justice Department announced it the next day. That is three years and seven months after January 6, 2021. FACT: He was charged with one felony, Civil Disorder, and four misdemeanors: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. CHARGE ONLY: those were allegations. The presumption of innocence applied to every count. FACT: Steven Hassel pleaded NOT GUILTY to all charges. He never pleaded to anything. FACT: On January 23, 2025, the court ordered the case dismissed, following the clemency President Trump granted on January 20, 2025, covering the January 6 prosecutions. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: nothing was proven against Steven Hassel. No plea. No trial. No verdict. No sentence. A young man from San Antonio was arrested in his mid twenties over something alleged to have happened when he was 22, and the case ended without one finding against him.
