Stephen Alexander Ondulich is a Rockville, Maryland man who was 30 years old at the time of his arrest, one of the youngest people from the Washington suburbs charged over January 6. He never went to prison. Probation and home detention, and then a full pardon. THE LEGAL FIGHT. FACT: a complaint against Ondulich was filed July 17, 2023 and he was arrested July 19, 2023. FACT: he was charged in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia with Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building or Grounds, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. FACT: Stephen Ondulich pleaded guilty to TWO counts, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building and Grounds, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. FACT: the other charges were dismissed. FACT: on May 20, 2024 he was sentenced to 36 months of probation, 45 days of home detention, $500 in restitution, a $1,000 fine, a $20 special assessment and 60 hours of community service. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: federal court records state Ondulich entered through a Senate Wing door off the Northwest Terrace carrying a flag. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: prosecutors attributed harsh social media statements to Ondulich in charging papers. Those are quoted from the government's filing and this archive has not independently authenticated the posts or their context. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: Stephen Alexander Ondulich was never charged with assault, never charged with a weapon offense, and never charged with property destruction. Four misdemeanor counts, two of them dismissed. Words in a filing are not a violent act. FACT: on January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. Stephen Ondulich of Rockville, Maryland received a full pardon. CASE RECORD. Case 23-mj-00172, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
