Stacey Lynn Stephens is a Virginia grandmother who told the FBI she walked into the Capitol on January 6 for one reason. Her elderly mother was in there and she was not leaving her alone. Read that again, slow. She was there with her mom. According to the sworn affidavit of an FBI special agent in her case, Stacey Stephens stated that she entered the U.S. Capitol to protect her elderly mother and to make sure she would remain safe. [FACT, charging affidavit as reported] That is not a lawyer spinning after the fact. That is what she told federal agents in her own interview, and the government put it in its own paperwork. The charges against Stacey Lynn Stephens were misdemeanors. Entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds. Disorderly conduct. Demonstrating in a Capitol building. [CHARGE ONLY] No assault charge. No weapon. No felony. Nothing violent alleged against her at all. She was arrested in late March 2023, more than two years after January 6, 2021. [FACT, contemporaneous reporting dated April 3, 2023] Two years of waiting for a knock, for a woman whose whole case was walking through a door behind her mother. The January 20, 2025 clemency proclamation covered the January 6 prosecutions. [FACT] The person-specific filing in the Stacey Lynn Stephens case is not yet captured in this archive. [NEEDS AUTHENTICATION] What this does not prove: it does not prove anything about anyone else that day. What it does prove: the government charged a Virginia grandmother with three misdemeanors for staying next to her mother. That is the whole file. THE RECORD Charged in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested on or about late March 2023. Case number and court docket not yet captured. [NEEDS AUTHENTICATION] This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
