Shane Kenneth Miller is one of the very last people the Justice Department ever arrested over January 6, and his case died thirty-five days later. December 18, 2024. That is the arrest date. [FACT, public case-list summary] Almost four years after January 6, 2021. Weeks before a new administration took office. Somebody signed that paperwork knowing exactly what the calendar said. The government charged Shane Kenneth Miller with assaulting certain officers, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and an act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings. [CHARGE ONLY] Thirty-five days. That is how long it lasted. On January 22, 2025, the court granted the government motion to dismiss the case against Shane Kenneth Miller with prejudice. [FACT, public case-list summary; docket text NEEDS AUTHENTICATION] With prejudice is the part that matters. It is not a pause. It is not a dismissal without prejudice that the government can dust off and refile whenever it feels like it. With prejudice means this case is closed forever and it cannot be brought against Shane Miller again. No trial. No verdict. No conviction. Every allegation above was an allegation and nothing more, and now it never will be anything more. Shane Kenneth Miller is presumed innocent of all of it, and in this country that presumption is not a courtesy. It is the law. THE RECORD Charged in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested December 18, 2024. Dismissed with prejudice January 22, 2025. Case number not yet captured. [NEEDS AUTHENTICATION] This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
