Scott Miller is a man from Smithsburg, Maryland, a small town in Washington County up against the Pennsylvania line. He was 36 when the FBI came to his door. He served the longest sentence of anyone in this stretch of the archive, and he served it on a case that ended in a pardon. FACT: Scott Miller was arrested on December 16, 2022, in Smithsburg, Maryland, by FBI agents. FACT: The government charged him with nine counts, including Civil Disorder, two counts of Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon, and Theft of Government Property. FACT: Scott Miller pleaded guilty to one count, Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon. He admitted he forcibly assaulted an officer with a long wood pole. The remaining eight counts were dismissed. FACT: On April 19, 2024, he was sentenced to 66 months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, a $100 special assessment, and $2,000 in restitution. Five and a half years. FACT: On January 20, 2025, Scott Miller received a full pardon from President Trump. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: the eight dismissed counts were never proven and never tried. What stands is one count and one admission. WHAT IT DOES PROVE: a man from Smithsburg, Maryland went to federal prison on a 66 month sentence, and the President of the United States wiped the conviction away. Both of those things sit in the record. Both are true at once. The record does not lie. Case record: Case 1:22-cr-412, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, docket dcd 250454. Complaint December 14, 2022. Arrested December 16, 2022. Sentenced April 19, 2024. Full pardon January 20, 2025. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
