Robert Hanna is one half of a Dayton, Ohio, story you do not hear every day: twin brothers, arrested together, walking through the same door of history side by side. FACT: Robert Hanna and his twin brother, Steven Hanna, were both arrested July 18, 2023 in Dayton, Ohio, and both charged in connection with entering the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. RYAN STATEMENT: Twins usually share everything growing up, birthdays, bedrooms, ballgames. These two ended up sharing a federal docket. That is not something either man could have predicted when they were kids in Ohio. FACT: Hanna was charged with Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building, Disorderly Conduct, and Parading in a Capitol Building. He pleaded guilty to two of those counts. The rest were dismissed. FACT: Hanna was sentenced May 9, 2024 to 24 months of probation, 45 days of location monitoring, a $500 fine, and $500 restitution. No prison time. FACT: On January 20, 2025, Robert Hanna received a full and unconditional pardon. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: Independent trackers of January 6 cases list Robert Hanna's arrest as tied to identification made through tips and public footage, consistent with how most misdemeanor-level January 6 cases were built. Nothing in the public record ties him to violence against any officer. FACT: Court records identify the twins by their full case caption, United States v. Hanna, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Both brothers' cases moved through the system together. This is the record. A man was identified, he answered for it in court, he served a sentence with no time behind bars, and the President of the United States pardoned him. Read it. Share it. Put eyes on the record. CASE RECORD: Case No. 23-mj-167, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested July 18, 2023. Sentenced May 9, 2024. Full pardon January 20, 2025. This profile is unclaimed.
