Before going in he climbed a wall on the exterior of a set of stairs leading to the Upper West Terrace, and helped other people up onto a lower portion of the stairs. Once inside he saw tear gas deployed in the Rotunda and he left. FACT: He was not arrested until January 31, 2024. Three years after the fact. FACT: The counts he answered to were misdemeanors. Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building or Grounds, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. THE LEGAL FIGHT FACT: Robert Colello pleaded guilty to those two misdemeanor counts. The remaining charges were dismissed. FACT: On June 21, 2024 he was sentenced to 12 months of probation, 50 hours of community service, $500 restitution, and a $20 special assessment. No prison. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed the clemency proclamation covering the January 6 prosecutions. Robert Colello received a full pardon.
