Robert James Bonham is an Alabaster, Alabama man. Shelby County, just south of Birmingham. The federal government came for him in December 2024, almost four full years after January 6, 2021. Read that again. December of 2024. Nearly four years. They were still opening new January 6 cases six weeks before the clemency landed. WHAT HE IS ACCUSED OF CHARGE ONLY. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION. Nothing below was ever proven to a jury. Federal prosecutors alleged that around 2:33 p.m. on January 6, 2021, Robert Bonham lifted a flagpole and extended it toward an officer. (Allegation, per the DOJ charging documents as reported by ABC 33/40 and WBRC, December 2024.) Charges filed, per the DOJ announcement: Obstruction of Law Enforcement During Civil Disorder; Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers; Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Engaging in Physical Violence in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building; Act of Physical Violence in the Capitol Grounds or Buildings. An allegation is an allegation. Robert James Bonham is presumed innocent. He never stood trial. No jury ever weighed a single one of those counts. No judge ever entered a verdict. THE LEGAL FIGHT FACT: Charges were announced in early December 2024. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. Bonham was charged roughly six weeks before that date. That is the entire legal history. A case opened in the last weeks of an administration and closed before it ever saw a courtroom. THE CASE RECORD U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Case number not yet recorded in this archive. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: the case number, the arrest date, the disposition, and anything at all about Robert James Bonham as a man. Trade, service, family, church, Shelby County. This archive has an accusation and a hometown. That is not a life. Send the rest. Show me the bodycam. Show me the full angle. Show me the timestamp. That request never expires. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
