Philip Walker is an Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania man whose January 6 case, filed more than three and a half years after the Capitol breach, ended with no conviction at all. Here's what the record shows. Federal prosecutors allege Philip Walker and his brother, David Walker of Delran, New Jersey, assaulted a New York Times photographer inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021, shoving her to the floor and taking her cameras, and that Philip later discarded a camera in a body of water. In a January 2021 FBI interview, Walker reportedly said he believed the woman was "a member of antifa." THEIR ACCOUNT, per the FBI affidavit and contemporaneous reporting by the Philadelphia Inquirer and NBC News; none of this was tested at trial. The brothers were not arrested until September 12, 2024. Philip Walker was charged with robbery, assault with intent to commit a felony, assault, destruction of property, and multiple restricted-building and violence counts, felony charges carrying up to 15 years. These are among the most serious charges in this archive, and they were never proven in court. On January 22, 2025, before any plea or trial, the court granted the government's motion to dismiss the case with prejudice. FACT, per the court docket. No conviction, no plea, and under the law, the presumption of innocence stands exactly as it did the day he was charged. This archive exists because a felony charge sheet gets national headlines and a dismissal with prejudice gets a fraction of that coverage, if any. Read the whole record, not just the part that made the news.
