Paula Ann Conlon is a West Virginia woman from Martinsburg, up in the Eastern Panhandle. FACT, per the public case tracking of her docket. Martinsburg is a working town in Berkeley County, about an hour and a half from the Capitol. Paula Conlon drove down that road on January 6, 2021 and walked through the building with the crowd. THE LEGAL FIGHT Here is what the surveillance actually showed. Paula Conlon walked through the Capitol alongside Stacy Bond. The footage shows them moving with the crowd. There is no evidence in the public record of Paula Conlon committing any act of violence. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE from the government video summary and the charging documents. She was charged in May 2022, more than sixteen months after the fact. Complaint filed 5/3/2022. Arrested 5/17/2022. Information filed 5/18/2022. On September 23, 2022, Paula Ann Conlon pleaded guilty to count 4, parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. That is a petty misdemeanor. It is the lowest charge in the entire January 6 docket. FACT. On January 5, 2023, she was sentenced to 12 months of probation, $500 restitution, and a $10 special assessment. Counts 1 through 3 were dismissed on the government's own motion. FACT. No prison. No felony. Twelve months of probation. On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. THE CASE RECORD Case 1:22-cr-171, initially filed as 1:22-mj-92. U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Judge Jia M. Cobb. Charged counts: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building; Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building; Parading, Demonstrating or Picketing in a Capitol Building. Counts 1 through 3 dismissed. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE Paula Ann Conlon was never convicted of a felony. She was never convicted of violence. Three of the four counts against her were dropped by the government itself. What is left is the petty misdemeanor, and she served it on probation in Martinsburg. The record does not lie.
