Nathaniel DeGrave — Nathan — was living in Las Vegas, Nevada when January 6 turned his life upside down. (FACT: Las Vegas Review-Journal) He spent months in pretrial detention in the DC jail. In October 2021 he did something risky: he put his name on a public letter describing what he said were the conditions inside pod C2B — 23-hour lockdowns, isolation, medical neglect. He signed it as "a nonviolent participant at the Jan 6th rally." That letter went viral and put the DC jail under a national spotlight.
