Mitchell Bosch
January 6 defendant
Documented editorial-use imageMitchell Bosch is a 44 year old man from Brooklyn, New York. A Brooklyn guy at a Trump rally. That alone is a story most people would not have guessed. He went to a jury. The jury cleared him on one count. He was never sentenced on the rest. FACT: Mitchell Bosch was arrested on February 14, 2024, in Brooklyn, New York, more than three years after January 6, 2021. FACT, per the charging documents: prosecutors alleged that around 4:20 p.m. on January 6, Bosch was in a group pushing against a police line on the Upper West Terrace, wearing a red beanie under a red ball cap, and that after being pushed back he returned and pressed forward again. THEIR ACCOUNT. When FBI agents interviewed him in 2023, Mitchell Bosch described that day to them as a "beautiful day" of "men being men." He said that to federal agents, knowing who he was talking to. He did not hide from it and he did not soften it. THE LEGAL FIGHT FACT: Bosch pleaded not guilty to all seven counts and took his case to a jury. FACT: on November 18, 2024, the jury found him guilty on six counts and NOT GUILTY on one: engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds. A jury of citizens heard the government's evidence and rejected that count. FACT: his sentencing was set for April 14, 2025. FACT: on January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. On January 21, 2025, the court granted the government's motion to dismiss the case with prejudice. Mitchell Bosch was never sentenced. Six guilty counts, one acquittal, zero days imposed. The record on this Brooklyn, New York man closes with a dismissal.
