Micheal Kieth Williams is a 43-year-old East Texan from Point, Texas, out in Rains County, and the federal government dismissed his January 6 case outright. Point, Texas. Population under 900. An hour east of Dallas on Highway 69, between Emory and Quinlan, deep in the piney woods country. That is home. Here is the part the wire services never put in the headline. FACT. On January 22, 2025, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia ordered that the case against Micheal Kieth Williams be dismissed. He was never convicted of anything arising out of January 6, 2021. He never stood trial. There is no verdict on him. Court-record derived, per the NPR Jan. 6 Archive case record. FACT. Williams was not arrested until July 30, 2024, at Point, Texas. Three and a half years passed between the day in Washington and the knock on the door in Rains County. Source: U.S. Department of Justice press release on the arrest. CHARGE ONLY. The government charged one felony count of obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, plus five misdemeanor counts including entering and remaining in a restricted building, entering and remaining on the floor of Congress, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading. Those were allegations in a charging document. The case ended before any of them were proven. Under American law, a charge is not guilt, and a dismissal is not a confession. CHARGE ONLY. The charging affidavit alleged he carried a flag onto the Senate floor for about six minutes and that he yelled, in the government's quotation, This is our house. That is the government's account of a video, contained in a document filed by prosecutors, tested by nobody. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE. The dismissal came two days after the January 20, 2025 clemency. Same week, same wave, and the docket closed. IDENTITY GUARD. Williams is a common Texas surname and this archive checked hard before attaching anything. Nothing on this page comes from coverage of any other Texas man named Williams, and nothing here comes from unrelated Texas cases that surfaced in the same searches. Two identifiers had to match before a source was attached: the full name Micheal Kieth Williams and the hometown of Point, Texas. What the record shows: an East Texas man, 43 years old, who spent months under a federal felony charge and walked out of it with a dismissal. What the record does not show: his trade, his service, his family, his church, his years in Rains County. That is missing, and it should not be. THE CASE RECORD United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested July 30, 2024 at Point, Texas. Case dismissed without prejudice January 22, 2025. The docket number is not confirmed in this archive. If you have the native docket sheet, send it and we will add it. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
