Council became known online as the Doom Guy after a viral photo from January 6, 2021 caught him in the corner of a crowd shot at the Capitol. The Tampa Bay Times reported that his mental health struggles at the time, described in court as including delusions, were tied to the kind of head trauma common in football, the kind associated with CTE.
