Mahailya Pryer is a working-age Missourian who traveled to Washington on January 6, 2021, with fellow Springfield resident Cara Hentschel. She did not hide her face or her name, the pair were tracked publicly on their own social posts and were later charged in D.C. federal court. Local Missouri TV and the Washington Post covered her case as a young Ozarks woman, not as a national villain. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a short jail term with probation and restitution.
