Luis Hallon was 67 years old, a husband from St. Cloud, Florida, when federal agents came for him over fourteen minutes inside the U.S. Capitol. FACT: Court records say Hallon walked to the Capitol from the Ellipse, entered through the Rotunda door, and was inside from 3:02 p.m. to 3:16 p.m. Fourteen minutes. That is the whole of it. THEIR ACCOUNT: Through his attorney, Luis Hallon told investigators that he and his wife "never had any intention to inflict harm on anyone or take over the Capitol," and that they "only intended to peacefully exercise their rights, or alternatively, to engage in a peaceful protest and eventually visit the Capitol building which appeared to be opened to them at the time of their entrance." That is a 67 year old Florida man saying he thought the door was open to him. Put that next to the charge and let people decide for themselves. THE CASE, PLAINLY CHARGE ONLY: Four counts, every one of them tied to entering and remaining. FACT: Hallon pleaded guilty to one count, Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges were dismissed. FACT: On April 26, 2023, he was sentenced to 24 months of probation, 60 hours of community service, $500 in restitution, and a $10 special assessment. No prison. Not one day. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. Luis Hallon received a full pardon. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE Luis Hallon was never charged with violence. Never charged with a weapon. Never charged with destruction of property. Not one count. The DOJ record does not allege he laid a hand on any officer. THE CASE RECORD Case 1:22-cr-217, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Complaint filed June 6, 2022.
