Long Duong, also known as Jimmy Duong, is a Worcester, Massachusetts man whose own case file says the thing his critics won't: he didn't break anything and he didn't hurt anyone. FACT: according to the FBI's own account, cellphone records traced Duong inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021. FACT: the FBI states plainly that "Duong and Miller did not commit any acts of vandalism or violence." Security footage shows him and his roommate walking in through the Senate Fire Door, walking around, leaving, coming back in, until police ushered them out. Long Duong traveled to Washington with his roommate to see President Trump's rally that day, according to court records; the two ended up inside the Capitol for a stretch before leaving under police direction. He wasn't arrested until June 13, 2023, more than two years after the fact. FACT: Duong pleaded guilty to one count, Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds. The rest of the charges against him were dismissed. The court gave him probation, restitution, and community service. No jail. FACT: on January 20, 2025, Long Duong received a full pardon from President Trump. Long Duong is a 54-year-old Worcester man who walked into a building he shouldn't have, walked back out, admitted it, and was pardoned. No vandalism. No violence. The FBI's own file says so. Read it for yourself. What this doesn't prove: it doesn't establish his job, his family, or the rest of his life in Worcester. What it does prove: he pleaded to one misdemeanor, no violence or property charge was ever filed against him, and he was pardoned by name.
