Logan Schimmel is a young man from Prattsburgh, in Steuben County, New York. Farm country in the Finger Lakes. He went to the Stop the Steal rally in Washington on January 6 with his father, Charles Schimmel Sr. Father and son. That is the whole crew. He was not charged for three and a half years. THE LEGAL FIGHT Logan Schimmel and his father were charged with obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. CHARGE ONLY, from the court documents described in local reporting. Everything the government alleged about the Schimmels is an allegation. They were arrested in August 2024 and their case was still in its earliest stage five months later. On January 20, 2025 a Presidential proclamation granted a full, complete and unconditional pardon for offenses relating to events at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, and the Department of Justice moved to dismiss pending January 6 prosecutions.
