Lloyd Casimiro Cruz Jr. is a northwest Missouri man from Polo, a town so small most people in the state have never driven through it. He went to Washington in January 2021 to hear a president speak and to walk with the crowd afterward. That is the whole of it. Two misdemeanors. That is the entire federal case against Lloyd Cruz. FACT: Cruz was convicted at a bench trial on January 13, 2023 of entering and remaining in a restricted building and of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. Both are misdemeanors. He was never charged with violence, never charged with damaging anything, never charged with touching an officer. (KSHB 41 Kansas City; KXCV) THEIR ACCOUNT: Cruz told federal agents he attended the speech and the march that followed and that he stayed outside on the landing. He voluntarily handed over his own video recordings from the rally. The government said its security footage showed otherwise, and the court sided with the government. (KSHB 41 Kansas City) He turned over his own video. Think about that. A man who believed he had nothing to hide gave the government his own footage. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. THE CASE RECORD Case 1:22-cr-64, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
