Leslie Bogue is a 66-year-old grandmother from Marlow, Oklahoma, a town of about 6,000 people, who went to Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 to support her country. THEIR ACCOUNT: Leslie Bogue told KSWO that her experience inside the Capitol was orderly. "People were going in and out. There was no contention. Nobody was fighting at all. It was peaceful," she said. She has stated that she was pushed inside the building, then stood on the east-side balcony, and that she did not witness the violence later shown on national television. FACT: Bogue was interviewed by the FBI multiple times over more than three years before she was arrested on May 17, 2024 in Oklahoma City. FACT: She faces federal misdemeanor charges: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building or Grounds, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. FACT: She has pleaded not guilty, and the case has not gone to trial in the sources reviewed for this profile. She is presumed innocent unless and until a court says otherwise. No violence charge against Leslie Bogue. No weapon. No assault. A 66-year-old grandmother from a small Oklahoma town, charged more than three years after the fact with the same low-level misdemeanors filed against thousands of others. Leslie Bogue has told reporters plainly why she went: "to support my country and support my president." That is her account, in her own words, and it belongs in this record alongside the charges she faces. January 20, 2025: President Trump issued a sweeping clemency proclamation covering January 6 defendants nationwide. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: whether Leslie Bogue's case, still pending at that point, was affected by that proclamation is not confirmed in the sources reviewed for this profile, and this page will be corrected once her status is verified. Case record: U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested May 17, 2024, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Charges: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building or Grounds; Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. Disposition: not guilty plea entered, case pending as of sources reviewed. A grandmother from Marlow, Oklahoma, her own words on the record, and the presumption of innocence this archive gives every name it publishes. Read it for yourself. This profile is unclaimed.
