Kyle Mlynarek is a young man from Redford Township, Michigan, right on the Detroit line. He was 27 when the case landed. He went to trial on the felony. He won it. THE HEADLINE NOBODY RAN FACT: On October 18, 2023, in a bench trial, Kyle Mlynarek was found NOT GUILTY of Civil Disorder. That was the felony. That was the count that carried the weight. A federal judge heard the government's case and acquitted him of it. Not guilty. Say it plain. The government brought the felony and the court threw it out. THE REST OF THE RECORD FACT: He was arrested February 1, 2023, after a complaint filed January 27, 2023. FACT: He initially pleaded not guilty to all counts. FACT: On October 16, 2023 he pleaded guilty to four misdemeanors: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building; and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. FACT: On February 21, 2024 he was sentenced to 100 days incarceration, 12 months of supervised release, a $70 special assessment, a $1,000 fine, $500 restitution, and 200 hours of community service. FACT: On January 20, 2025, Kyle Mlynarek received a full pardon. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE Kyle Mlynarek was acquitted of the only felony charged against him. Characterizations in the government's charging papers are allegations, and on the most serious one the court did not agree.
