Kimberly Wargo
Pardoned January 6 defendant
Kimberly Wargo is a northeast Ohio mother who went to the January 6 rally with her son and walked out of the Capitol when police told her to leave. That is not spin. That is her own signed statement of offense and the government's own sworn statement of facts. FACT: Kimberly Wargo traveled from Ohio to Washington, D.C. with her grown son on January 5, 2021, to attend the rally on the Ellipse. After the rally they walked with the crowd to the Capitol and went in through the Senate Wing door at about 2:20 p.m. FACT: They walked the Rotunda and nearby hallways for about 30 minutes. When officers in riot gear told them to leave, they left. No resistance. FACT: The government's charging papers allege no violence and no property damage against her. Not one assault count. Not one destruction count. FACT: When the FBI came asking in May 2021, she voluntarily agreed to an interview on May 20, 2021, and told agents she had been inside. She was not charged until May 2022, almost a year later. WHERE THINGS STAND: FACT: Arrested May 4, 2022. She was 55. Her son was charged in his own case. FACT: In February 2023 she pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor, parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: Case tracking sites list a June 16, 2023 sentence of 14 days, three years of probation and $500 restitution, not yet checked against the docket. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. No violence. No weapon. No felony. A mother who walked in behind a crowd, walked out when told, and told the FBI the truth when they asked. That is the record on Kimberly Wargo. ON THE MISSING PHOTO: No portrait runs here. The only images of her this archive could find are Capitol surveillance stills, and this archive does not use surveillance stills or booking photos as anyone's portrait. If you have a photo she would be proud of, send it. CASE RECORD Case No. 1:22-cr-00319-RCL (originally magistrate case 1:22-mj-93). U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
