Kimberly Sylvester
Pardoned January 6 defendant
Documented editorial-use imageKimberly Sylvester is a registered nurse from Auburn, Maine. She is the daughter of two United States Army officers who served in World War Two, the mother of two grown daughters, and a grandmother. Look at the career before you look at the case. FACT: Kimberly Sylvester spent her working life in oncology, ortho-neuro, dementia care, physical rehabilitation and medical surgical nursing. Cancer patients. People who could not remember their own families. Folks learning to walk again. That is not a resume line, that is decades of being the person in the room when it is hard. FACT: on her own time she volunteered with a medical team that accompanied veterans to their monuments in Washington, D.C., so old men could stand in front of the memorials built for what they did. Her attorney told the federal court she can no longer do that work. Source: Sun Journal, June 13, 2024. Now the record, plain. FACT: Kimberly Sylvester was originally charged with four counts in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. FACT: in March 2024 she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors, disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and parading or demonstrating in a Capitol building. FACT: on June 13, 2024 she was sentenced to two concurrent one-year terms of probation and $500 in restitution, with the remaining counts expected to be dismissed. No prison time. No assault charge. No weapon. Sources: Sun Journal, Central Maine, Portland Press Herald, WGME. THEIR ACCOUNT: she told the court in writing that she entered "with pure stupidity and there is simply no excuse for that." She owned it in front of a federal judge and she has not asked anybody to pretend otherwise. The January 20, 2025 presidential proclamation granted full pardons for offenses related to the events at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: whether a pardon certificate has issued in the name of Kimberly Sylvester. Case record: U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: docket number. Reported arrest December 2023 (Maine Public). Pleaded guilty March 2024. Sentenced June 13, 2024. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
