Kimberly Rae Dragoo is a St. Joseph, Missouri mother who organized almost three thousand of her neighbors to keep a high school from closing, and then put her own name on the ballot to finish the job. FACT: When the St. Joseph school district moved to close one of its three high schools around 2019, Dragoo built a Facebook group called "We the people 3 schools." FACT: It grew to nearly 3,000 members. FACT: In April 2024, Kimberly Rae Dragoo ran for the St. Joseph school board. THEIR ACCOUNT: Asked about her own education, she said, "I don't see how someone with a doctorate degree could ever understand a child that has not finished school." Asked whether her group harassed officials, she said, "I wouldn't say we harass. I say we expose." Read that again. A woman who did not finish high school stood up for three high schools and made a whole district listen to her. Whatever anybody thinks about January 6, that is a citizen doing citizenship in her own town. THE CASE, PLAINLY CHARGE ONLY: Four counts, all tied to entering and remaining in the Capitol on January 6, 2021. FACT: Dragoo pleaded guilty to one count, Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in the Capitol Building. The other charges were dismissed. FACT: On April 19, 2024, she was sentenced to 36 months of probation with a condition of intermittent confinement, a $5,000 fine, $500 in restitution, and a $10 special assessment. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. Kimberly Rae Dragoo received a full pardon. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE No violence count. No weapon count. No destruction count. The single offense she admitted is a petty offense, the lowest charge the federal government brought in any January 6 case.
