Julie Miller was on vacation. That is not spin. That is what she told the FBI and what the FBI reported. A 51 year old woman from Worcester, Massachusetts was in Washington, D.C. on a trip, heard there was a rally, and went to see it. FACT: Julie Miller, also known as Hong Ngo, of Worcester, Massachusetts, told investigators she was vacationing in Washington, D.C. when she and her roommate decided to attend the rally. Source: CBS Boston, June 2023. FACT: The FBI itself stated that Miller and her roommate did not commit any acts of violence or vandalism. Source: CBS Boston, June 2023, quoting the FBI. Read that again. The FBI said it. Not a defense lawyer. Not a supporter. The Bureau. FACT: Miller entered the Capitol and spent about five minutes in the Senate Parliamentarian's office recording video before police pushed her out. She and her roommate re-entered minutes later to take pictures and were removed again. Source: CBS Boston. Five minutes and a phone camera. Two and a half years later, federal agents came for her in Worcester. THE LEGAL FIGHT CHARGE ONLY: A criminal complaint was filed June 12, 2023 charging Julie Miller with Knowingly Entering or Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. All misdemeanors and petty offenses. No assault count. No weapon count. No destruction count. Source: DOJ defendant record; This Week in Worcester; NBC Boston. She was arrested June 13, 2023. She is presumed innocent of every charge unless and until proven otherwise, and the record shows no conviction. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued a proclamation granting pardons and commutation of sentences for offenses relating to the events at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, and directing the Attorney General to pursue dismissal of all pending indictments against individuals for their conduct on January 6. Source: Federal Register, 90 FR 8331. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: Julie Miller's case was still pending when that proclamation issued. Under its terms, pending January 6 cases were directed to be dismissed. We have not located a docket entry confirming the dismissal date in her specific case. If you have it, send it.
