Joshua John Portlock is a 42 year old working father from Smyrna, Tennessee. His own attorneys told a federal judge he had lived an exemplary life centered around work and family. WHAT THE FOOTAGE SHOWS THEIR ACCOUNT / NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: American Gulag, which tracks these cases, writes that at one point another protester was going through a medical emergency, and that Joshua Portlock moved the man toward the police line and pleaded with officers to help him. He did not use a weapon. His attorneys said so and the record does not contradict it. THE LEGAL FIGHT FACT: Arrested November 3, 2021, and held at his initial appearance. FACT: On August 31, 2023, he pleaded guilty to Count 4, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building. One count. The rest fell away.
