Not one of them alleges he hurt anybody. THE CHARGES, IN FULL CHARGE ONLY: Entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds. Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds. Disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. Parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. FACT: There is no felony on this record. No assault count. No weapon count. No destruction of property count. Every one of those is an allegation. Joseph LaPoint is presumed innocent on all four. THE PART THAT SHOULD STOP YOU FACT: According to reporting on the federal filings, the FBI was pointed toward Joseph LaPoint by one of his own relatives, who told agents he had posted videos on Facebook saying he had been inside the Capitol on January 6. He posted it himself. Publicly. Under his own name. Then his own family called it in, and it took the government until March 2024 to knock on the door. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued clemency covering January 6 cases. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: LaPoint's case was still pending when that clemency issued.
