Jorden Robert Mink
Pardoned January 6 defendant
Documented editorial-use imageJorden Robert Mink is a young man from Oakdale, Pennsylvania, a small borough west of Pittsburgh, and he did the hardest time of anybody on this page. He was arrested thirteen days after January 6. He was ordered held. He did not go home to await trial like most of them did. He sat. WHAT THE RECORD SHOWS FACT: Jorden Mink was arrested January 19, 2021. Indicted January 27, 2021. A superseding indictment came February 24, 2021. He was arraigned March 16, 2021 and pleaded not guilty to all counts. FACT: The judge presiding over the case ordered Jorden Mink held in custody until trial. He was not released on personal recognizance. FACT: The government alleged that he used a baseball bat to break Capitol windows, entered through the broken window, removed property including chairs and handed items to the crowd outside, and that he threw objects at officers including a traffic cone and struck at officers with a long pole. Those are the government allegations from the charging documents and the sentencing presentation. Attributed to the government, not adopted here as independent findings. FACT: The original indictment stacked ten counts on him, including Obstruction of an Official Proceeding, Theft of Government Property, Destruction of Government Property, Civil Disorder, and two assault counts. THE LEGAL FIGHT FACT: On January 9, 2023, after two years in custody, Jorden Mink pleaded guilty to two counts. Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon, and Theft of Government Property. The other eight counts were dismissed. FACT: On June 2, 2023, he was sentenced to 51 months of incarceration, 36 months of supervised release, a $120 special assessment, and $2,000 restitution. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed the clemency proclamation covering the January 6 prosecutions. Jorden Robert Mink received a full pardon. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: He was held from January 2021 and pardoned in January 2025. On the face of the record that is roughly four years of his twenties spent in federal custody, counting pretrial detention. The archive has not yet obtained a Bureau of Prisons release record to fix the exact date, so this stays labeled as inference until we do. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE Eight of the ten counts against him were dismissed. The two he pleaded to are the record. Anything past those two counts is the government version of events and should be cited as such, not repeated as established fact. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION We need the plea agreement, the statement of offense, the sentencing transcript, the BOP release record, and most of all Jorden Mink in his own words about four years of his life. He was 27 when this went down. If you know him or his family in Allegheny County, send it. The photograph attached to this profile came in from a public archive and has not been authenticated as a dignified image he would choose. If it is not right, we will pull it the day he asks.
