Jonathan Rockholt
Pardoned January 6 defendant
Jonathan Rockholt is a 38-year-old man from Palm Coast, Florida, on the Flagler County coast between Daytona and St. Augustine. He took the plea, he did the time, and on January 20, 2025 the President of the United States wiped it off his record with a full pardon. THE MAN AND THE COAST FACT: Jonathan Rockholt of Palm Coast, Florida was 38 during the case. Palm Coast sits in Flagler County on Florida Atlantic coast. (Source: NPR January 6 case database, compiled from federal court records; FlaglerLive, August 2022.) FACT: He was arrested on August 24, 2022, after a complaint was filed August 16, 2022. He was one of five Florida men charged together in that group of cases. (Source: DOJ press release.) THE CHARGES AND THE PLEA FACT: Jonathan Rockholt was charged with two counts: Civil Disorder and Theft of Government Property. He pleaded guilty to both. FACT: On July 7, 2023, he was sentenced to 5 months of incarceration, 24 months of supervised release, 5 months of home detention, a $125 special assessment, and $2,000 in restitution. FACT: He was not charged with conspiracy. He was not charged with seditious conspiracy. He was not charged with assaulting an officer with a weapon. CHARGE ONLY: Prosecutors alleged in their filings that Rockholt was associated with a Florida group they called the "B Squad" and that he was among people who pushed against a police line on the west side of the Capitol. Those are allegations in a government filing. The counts he actually pleaded to, and the only counts a court ever entered judgment on, are Civil Disorder and Theft of Government Property. THE PARDON FACT: Jonathan Rockholt received a FULL PARDON on January 20, 2025. A full pardon is not a technicality and it is not a commutation. It is the highest form of executive clemency the Constitution provides. WHAT IT PROVES He served five months. He served the supervised release and home detention the court set. He did not fight the charges he pleaded to. And then the pardon came, and the federal conviction that hung over a man in Palm Coast, Florida came off.
