John O'Kelly is a 66 year old attorney from East Williston, New York, and a former member of his local school board. A lawyer. A school board member. Long Island. That is the man. WHO HE IS FACT: John O'Kelly practiced law and served on the East Williston School District board of education. Serving on a school board is unpaid work. People do it because they care about the kids in their town. FACT: He worked with the Lawyers Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, an organization that filed suit seeking further federal investigation into the World Trade Center attacks. Whatever anyone thinks of that effort, it was lawyering through the courts, in public, under his own name. THE PART EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD READ FACT: The FBI identified John O'Kelly using facial recognition software, comparing his New York DMV photographs against video recorded at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, after receiving a tip on July 8, 2021. Investigators then layered on hotel records, phone data, home surveillance, and interviews with acquaintances. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: Your driver license photo is now a search index. That is not a claim about John O'Kelly. That is a fact about the government, and his case is one of the places it is written down in black and white. THE CASE CHARGE ONLY: O'Kelly was charged with two felonies, assaulting or impeding officers and civil disorder, plus four misdemeanors. The government alleged he tried to take an officer baton and pushed a bike rack barrier. FACT: He was arrested October 20, 2022, and released on a 100,000 dollar bond. He is presumed innocent on every count. Charges are charges. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued clemency covering January 6 cases. Release the record. Release the facial recognition audit trail. John O'Kelly of East Williston, New York, is entitled to see exactly how the government picked his face out of a crowd.
