Jeremy Michael Rodgers is a Midland, Michigan man. Mid-Michigan raised. A neighbor in a mill town on the Tittabawassee, not a face on a wanted poster. But a wanted poster is what the FBI made him. For nearly two and a half years, Jeremy Rodgers was one of the Capitol suspects the FBI publicly sought. Then agents took him in Orlando, Florida on June 30, 2023. ABC12 in Flint reported what happened next in a headline most outlets would never write: Midland's Jeremy Rodgers back home after arrest on Capitol riot charges. Back home. Not held. Not buried in a D.C. jail. Home in Midland, Michigan, where he came from. WHAT THE RECORD SHOWS FACT: A criminal complaint was filed June 23, 2023 and he was arrested June 30, 2023, per the DOJ record. FACT: He is from Midland, Michigan, per the Detroit News, ABC12, and CBS Detroit. FACT: He was arrested in Orlando, Florida, per ClickOrlando and the Detroit News. FACT: He returned home to Midland after the arrest, per ABC12. FACT: In December 2024 he was convicted on eight counts in a bench trial, per ABC12 and Law and Crime. The judge who convicted him was appointed by President Trump. That detail matters, because it is the opposite of the story people tell about these cases. CHARGE ONLY: The government alleged Jeremy Michael Rodgers struck a Capitol Police officer with a flagpole. That was the allegation the government brought. Read it as an allegation the court then weighed. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: Conviction came in December 2024 and clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions issued weeks later, on January 20, 2025. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: the final docket entry for this case has not been pulled in this run. THE LEGAL FIGHT Charged in 2023. Tried and convicted in 2024. Clemency in 2025. That is three and a half years of a man's life spent inside a federal case that started with a photograph. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: Nothing here establishes any fact beyond what the government charged and what the court found. The archived DOJ snapshot for this row ends at the arrest.
