Jennifer Ruth Parks is a Kansas grandmother. She drove to Washington with a friend from home, she came back to Kansas, and when the government came calling she did not run. She turned herself in. That is who she is. Start there. HER STORY FACT: Jennifer Ruth Parks is from Kansas. KSNT, KSHB, and the Johnson County Post all covered her as a Kansas woman, and Courthouse News Service described her as a Kansas grandmother. FACT: She self-surrendered on April 23, 2021 and made her initial court appearance the same afternoon. Nobody had to come get her. HER FIGHT FACT: An information was filed May 14, 2021. Parks was arraigned July 21, 2021 and pleaded not guilty to all counts. FACT: She entered a plea agreement September 28, 2021 and pleaded guilty to one count. FACT: On December 8, 2021 she was sentenced to 24 months probation, 500 dollars restitution, and 60 hours of community service. No prison. Courthouse News headlined it plainly: no jail for the Kansas grandmother. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering January 6 defendants. KCUR and KRPS published the Kansas list. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE Jennifer Parks was never accused of violence and never sentenced to a day behind bars. Anyone who says otherwise is not reading the docket.
