Jeffrey David Reed is a Rosanky, Texas man, out of Bastrop County southeast of Austin, and the federal government did not indict him until two and a half years after January 6. FACT: the Justice Department lists Jeffrey David Reed as a resident of Rosanky, Texas. FACT: he was 48 at the time of his arrest. FACT: at the time of January 6 he was living in upstate New York. FACT: a new complaint was filed June 28, 2023 and he was arrested June 29, 2023, with his initial appearance that same day. Two and a half years after the day in question. FACT: reporting identifies Reed as a member of the Hudson Valley chapter of the Proud Boys and an affiliate of the Three Percenters. This archive prints that because the record says it, not because it settles anything. THEIR ACCOUNT / NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: according to the government's filings, Reed helped move barriers on the west side, told officers "You work for us," called them oathbreakers, then entered the building, walked to the Rotunda, and was pushed back out after roughly an hour. Those quotes come from the government. This archive has not independently examined the underlying video. THE LEGAL FIGHT CHARGE ONLY at the start: one felony count of civil disorder plus misdemeanor counts including entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. FACT: indicted July 2023. FACT: he was convicted and sentenced to 30 months in prison, two years of supervised release, and a $2,000 fine. FACT: on January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: this archive has not obtained the judgment or the individual clemency paperwork for Jeffrey David Reed and has not confirmed his current custody status. Here is the due process question this archive keeps asking, and it is not a defense of anybody's conduct. The government had the video the whole time. Reed was charged in the summer of 2023. What changed about the evidence at month thirty that was not already true at month three? When a prosecution office can pick the year it charges you, the calendar becomes a weapon. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: nothing here disputes the conviction. WHAT IT DOES PROVE: a man from a small unincorporated community in Bastrop County, Texas carried a federal felony charge that arrived two and a half years late.
